Trifecta Pharmaceuticals USA (TRIORAL) WHO approved Oral Rehydration Salts.

REHYDRATE YOUR BODY

Don’t Let Dehydration Catch Up With You!

What exactly are TRIORAL Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS)?

TRIORAL ORS are effective, inexpensive, safe and convenient packets of pre-formulated salts/ sugar when mixed with water will rehydrate your body fast, regardless of the cause.

Each TRIORAL ORS packet is a sealed, pre-measured and pre-formulated powder that contains: Glucose anhydrous 13.5g, Trisodium Citrate Dehydrate 2.9g, Sodium Chloride 2.6g and Potassium Chloride 1.5g.

How does TRIORAL ORS work and why are these electrolytes important?

This combination of electrolytes with glucose optimizes efficient absorption via the intestinal tract. With TRIORAL ORS both the active transport of glucose and diffusion of salts/water through the intestinal lining are at work-- so you rehydrate fast.

Dehydration may occur unexpectedly and rapidly as a result of excessive fluid loss due to sweating, urination, fever, etc. When the body is depleted of critical salts and water, severe dehydration many ensue, resulting in acute medical emergencies.

How should I take the TRIORAL ORS packets?

Empty completely one TRIORAL ORS packet into one liter of water. Only open the sealed packet when you are ready to mix with water and drink it. Since it contains NO artificial sweeteners or flavoring agents, at your discretion, you can squeeze a lemon, lime or orange to taste.

If recommended by a physician, pharmacist or other health professional, follow his/her instructions.

Where should I keep my TRIORAL ORS packets?

In general, store the ORS packets in a cool, dry place at home. When on the go, you may place your packets in your carryon luggage, backpack, purse, first aid kit, and auto survival kits.

How good is the quality of TRIORAL ORS packets?

TRIORAL ORS quality is second to none. Unlike many electrolyte solutions or other powders, ours does NOT contain any artificial sweeteners, flavoring agents, colors, or preservatives. And we are Gluten Free. TRIORAL ORS does NOT contain sucralose, aspartame, preservatives or any extra ingredients that may impact the quality and effectiveness.

What medical conditions can result in dehydration, either suddenly or over time?

Sudden diarrhea from viral, bacterial or parasitic infections; diarrhea from food poisoning; excessive urination from poorly controlled diabetes; diarrhea and fever from Ebola virus and other life threatening viruses; excessive vomiting, gastro-intestinal surgery producing “short gut syndromes”, weight management/bariatric surgery and high output ostomies are some examples.

What physical activities can result in dehydration, either suddenly or over time?

Any strenuous physical activity, especially in hot and humid environments such as: hiking, soccer, cycling, hockey, cross country running, marathons, triathlons, etc. can result in severe and fast dehydration.

How good is the formulation of these ORS packets?

Recently the World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended reduced osmolarity oral rehydration salts to optimize hydration and minimize potential side effects. This new and improved formula is the result of extensive research sponsored by WHO's Department of Child and Adolescent Health and Development and supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). **

**The latest study was conducted in five developing countries among children from one month to two years old with acute diarrhea and dehydration. The study’s findings suggest that using the low-sodium, low-glucose ORS formulation reduces the need for intravenous fluids by 33 percent. The effect of this reduction could result in fewer children requiring hospitalization, fewer secondary infections, a diminished need to handle blood with its potentially dangerous consequences, and lower health care costs. **

What is meant by “New and Improved, Reduced Osmolarity” oral rehydration?

For more than 25 years, WHO has recommended a single formulation of glucose-based oral rehydration salts to prevent or treat dehydration from diarrhea (regardless of the cause or age group). The standard solution provided 90 mEq/l of sodium with a total osmolarity of 311 mOsm/l. Although this “standard solution” has proven effective for the global reduction in mortality from diarrheal diseases, a revised formulation was recently recommended by WHO. **

Numerous studies were done to develop an improved formulation, with the goal of creating a safe and effective electrolyte solution (at least comparable to the standard ORS), but with reduction in stool output and other potential adverse effects typical of a hyperosmolar solution. Reducing the solution’s glucose and salt (NaCl) concentrations, resulted in the same clinical benefits as the standard solution, but with fewer potential complications. **

Why should health professionals recommend TRIORAL ORS to their clients/patients?

Since, we strictly follow the new WHO formulation for oral rehydration and adhere to strict quality control standards/certifications, health professionals can feel secure in recommending and offering TRIORAL ORS packets to their patients/clients. Your clients will greatly appreciate the exceptional effectiveness, convenience and affordability of TRIORAL ORS packets.

Why does TRIORAL ORS NOT contain sucralose?

In keeping with our health and safety mission, there was NO reason to add the sweetener sucralose to our ORS packets. Sucralose is an artificial, non-nutritive sweetener and is considered 320-1000x as sweet as sucrose. Since it is heat stabile, it has gained commercial popularity for meal bars, baked goods and so forth. Although the US FDA has approved its use in consumer goods, gastro-intestinal side effects including flatulence have been described.

Is TRIORAL ORS gluten free?

Yes, these packets are completely gluten free.
